European Champion and the winner of the World Cup

     ALEH YURENIA – a student of Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin, the only Belarusian grant holder of the International Federation of University Sports (FISU), Master of Sports of International Level, has competed for the Belarusian national team since 2008.

 

     

 

 

      Aleh Yurenia was born on May 21, 1990 in Mosty, Grodno region. He began to train in kayaking at the age of eleven at the local specialized Children’s and Youth School of Olympic Reserve under the patronage of coach Vladimir Zadolin. He has been living and training in Brest since 2006.

2008 – The first significant success. He was included in the main national team and participated at the European Canoe Sprint Senior Championship in Milan: he was the 18th in 1000m.

2009 – He debuted at the World Cup and took the 15th place in the world kayaking rankings. He participated at the European Championship in Brandenburg where arrived the 9th in the individual 1000m program.

2010 – He showed a substantional result at all World Cup stages and became a prize winner of the named trophy. At the European Championship in Spain he won a silver medal in his specialty of 1000 m discipline and took a gold medal in the non-olympic 5000 m race. He won a bronze medal at the World Championship in Poznan in 1000m.

2011 – He repeated these achievements at the European Championship in Belgrade. Moreover, at the World Championship in Szeged he became a silver medal prize winner of in 5000m race.

   After several successful performances was granted the right to compete on behalf of Belarus at the Olympic Games in London in 2012. He was able to get to final in K1 1000m, however in the deciding race he finished the 6th. After the Olympic Games he remained on the main national team of Belarus and took part in the largest international sport events.

    At the World Championship in Duisburg in Germany took part in three disciplines including K2 in 1000m relay and won a silver medal.

   Не became the winner of silver and bronze medals at the XXVII World Summer Universiade (Kazan, Russian Federation) in 1000m race among K1 and K4 .

Silver medal at the Olympic 1000m distance

 PAVEL MIADVEDZEU – a student of Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin, Master of Sports of International Level, a silver prize-winner of the of the World Championships and the XXVII World Summer Universiade (Kazan, Russian Federation), participant of the European University Championship among students.

 

 

 

 

     Pavel Miadvedzeu was born on September 23, 1991 in Gomel. He began his training at the Sport Children and Youth School of Olympic Reserve “Dolphin”. Vasiliy Oreshko was his first coach.

2011 - World Championship: K1 500 m relay – the 2nd place. 

2013 - European Championship: K1 500m – the 4th place. 

European University Championship: K1 500 m – the 6th place; K1 1000m – the 9th place. 

World Championship: K4 1000m – the 6th place, K2, 1000m – the 2nd place.

       Ivan Tsuranou was born on December 28, 1994 in Gomel. He trained at the Sport Club of the Armed Forces, Sport Club of Trade Unions' Federation of Belarus.

    Artsiom Tsiliupa was born on January 31, 1992 in Bobruisk, Mogilev region. He trained in kayaking in the Sport Club of Trade Unions of Belarus, Republican Centre of Olympic Training, Sport Children and Youth School “Berezina”. Coaches – Dmitry Goshko, Grigory Lazarev, Vladimir Baikov. 

2012 – National Junior and Youth Canoe Sprint Championship: C2 500m – the 1st place. 

2014 – National Canoe Sprint Championship: K4 1000m – the 3rd place.

MARYNA LITVINCHUK (PAUTARAN) – a student of Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin, Merited Master of Sports.

 

 

 

 

 

 

    Maryna was born on March 12, 1988 in Sotnychi Petrikov district Gomel region. She has been training in kayaking since the age of seven at the specialized Children and Youth School of Olympic Reserve. First she was specialized on academic rowing, later began to train in canoe sprint. Her coach – Vitaliy Scryganov.

2006 – She entered in the main national team of the Republic of Belarus, debuted at the World Cups, participated at the World Championship in Szeged (Hungury) and the European Championship in Račice (Czech Republic).

First she started training under the guidance of Michail Azemshi, then with the chief coach of national women team Gennady Galitsky.

    Nadzeya Papok was born on June 12, 1989 in Ptich Petrikov district Gomel region. She went in for kayaking at the age of 14 at the specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve in Mozyr. The first coach is Michail Azemshi, later – Vitaly Gud.

     Margaryta Tsishkevich was born on February 13, 1992 in Khoiniki Gomel region. Some period of time she went in for judo, won national and regional junior tournaments, however in some years she decided to go in for kayaking at the specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve in Mozyr.  Her coaches are Boris Mertz, Gennady Galitsky. 

2012 – Summer Olympic Games (London): K1 200m – the 22nd place, K1 500m – the 24th place (semi-final).

DZIANIS HARAZHA
– a student of the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Merited Master of Sports, competes since 2009.
 

 

 

 

 

 

      Dzianis was born on May 15, 1987 in Atbasar Akmola region Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, but he lived in Belarusian town Mozyr since childhood. He started going in for canoeing at sports school ”Zhemchuzhyna Polesiya“ there. Later he joined the sports society ”Dinamo“. His first trainers were Ramil Minodarov, Igor Savenko, his personal trainer is Vladimir Rybak. In 2010 he graduated the Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin (faculty of physical education). 

2009 – He started to compete on the national team, his debut was on the World Cup. He won two gold medals – C1 500m and C4 1000m – at Canoe Sprint World Championships in Dartmouth (Canada). Another gold medal was won at the 500m distance at Canoe Sprint European Championships in Brandenburg (Germany). 

2010 – Canoe Sprint World Championship (Poznan, the Republic of Poznan) – C1 500m and C4 1000m – gold medals. 

Canoe Sprint European Championship in Trasona (Spain): C1 500m – a gold winner, C4 1000m – a silver medal. 

2011 – Canoe Sprint World Championship in Szeged (Hungary). In spite of the injury and long recovery period, he won a gold medal in C4 1000m and a silver medal in C1 500m. 

Canoe Sprint European Championship in Belgrade (Serbia): C1 500m – a bronze medal. After the range of successful performances he gained the right to take part in the Summer Olympic Games 2012 in London. 

2012 – As his favorite distanceswere excluded from Olympic program, he had to compete at 200m distance. He got through to the final, but he was the fifth. After Olympic Games he remained on the core composition of the national team and participated in the largest international competitions. 

2013 – Canoe Sprint World Championship in Duisburg (Germany): C4 1000m – a silver medal. 

    Canoe Sprint European Championship in Montemor-o-Velho (Portugal) – he was at list of the winners at both his favorite distances: a silver medal in C1 500m and a gold medal in C4 1000m.

      Andrei Misachenka was born on June 30, 1992 in Gomel. He went in for at Gomel Regional School of Highest Sport Mastery. His coach is Victor Prischepov.

2012 – 5th World University Canoe Sprint Championship (Kazan, Russian Federation): C4 1000m and C4 500m – bronze medals. 

2013 – World Cup (Szeged, Hungary): C2 200m – the 6th place.

 


 In the 5th World University Championship Canoe Sprint, which was held in August 2012 in Kazan (Russian federation), 169 participants from 18 countries took part in competitions. There were 3 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals in the bank of Belarusian students-sportsmen.

 


     XXVII Summer Universiade took place in Kazan (Russian federation) from 5 till 17 July, 2013. 11759 students from 162 countries participated in the competitions, in which 351 sets of medals were played. Belarusian students-sportsmen took part in 17 from 27 program kinds. In the overall ranking the Republic of Belarus came the fifth with the record result – 40 medals (13 gold, 13 silver and 14 bronze awards). The largest contribution to the winning of the medals was made by the representatives of canoeing – 14 awards (6 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze). According to the results of the canoeing competitions Belarusian sportsmen came the second among 20 participating countries.
